McLiar Fudges Congressional Hearing

"I'm not going to talk about the past."

These words (or something like them) were repeated how many times at last Thursday's Congressional steroid hearings? Definitely enough to annoy me, and certainly enough to destroy the reputation of Mark McGwire. McGwire was destined to be a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer. Now, I'm not so sure. For a guy who prided himself on setting a good example to kids out there, McGwire sure made himself out to be a Grade-A tool.

By the way, was Congress trying to assemble a crack team of steroid experts, or a list of people I hate? Canseco, Sosa, and Schilling? Man, if only a comet had hit that building.
